Le Paul has a fantastic interactive Google Doodle today to celebrate his birthday. The doodle allows you to strum the logo via the mouse or keyboard. Les Paul (Lester William Polsfuss) was an American jazz and country guitarist, songwriter and inventor. Paul is one of a handful of artists with a permanent, stand-alone exhibit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“Today, we’re attempting to recreate that experience with a doodle celebrating the birthday of musician and inventor Les Paul. For the next 24 hours on the Google homepage, you’ll find an interactive, playable logo inspired by the guitar developed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee that made the sound of rock and roll possible.”
Google’s first interactive logo was the Pac-Man on 21st May 2010 in association with Namco. Hopefully we will see more in the not too distant future.
